They also serve a selection of Spanish wines, sherry, beers and Sangria.

La Tasca is a Spanish Tapas style restaurant. Each dish is around four to five pound and it is recommended to have around five, six dishes for two people. There are plenty of dishes available on the menu with a good variation in types of dishes too. There are also various set menus available which have around 8 dishes for twenty four pounds which is what I went for on my visit here. The quantity of food between two of us was more than enough and although several of the dishes were very nice a couple were a little hit or miss but this could be down to personal preference. Although when the food did arrive the dishes were luke warm at best and it seemed to me that they had merely been heated rather than freshly prepared.

The Cardiff La Tasca is the same as most La Tascas I have ever been in however I was disappointed to find that the Cardiff branch was not offering the deal of all you can eat for £10 that is available in other branches. That being said the standard menu does offer a number of set menus which offer pretty good value when compared to the individual menu prices. Although the servings are smallish and when they come out you will wonder if there will be enough it is plenty. I couldn’t finish all the dishes and I was really enjoying them. This may also be in part to the bread and olives we were offered when we first arrived. There were lots of olives however I was disappointed to find that on the bill we had been charged for bread and oils as well as olives and tomato bread, when we only had one portion of bread and yet paid full price for both dishes. The house wine was enjoyable and we enjoyed a good coffee at the end of the meal. The service was pretty good and the menu was explained to us when we arrived however towards the end of the meal our waitress seemed to disappear and we struggled to get the bill. Overall La Tasca is what you would expect from such a chain restaurant perhaps slightly higher prices than you would want to pay for something not quite authentic but the set menus offer good value.
