Cafe Floyd is situated above Floyd's Clothing and is popular with the pre club crowd. Food is available.
Much more enjoyable than most of the larger bars in Cardiff, this is a nice atmosphere to have an intimate drink, and something of a quiet haven on the bustling vomit-fest that is St Mary Street of a Friday evening!

The utter lack of decent places to drink in Cardiff vexes me greatly. Every time the random floozy (thanks Giles) and I want somewhere pleasant to toast Dionysius it ends in a terrible fight. After discarding the half-a-dozen Weatherspoons in a flurry of misplaced snobbery we end up walking around town lamenting that we don’t still live in the capital of watering holes: Norwich. Having said all this Floyds, above its eponymous clothing store, isn’t all that bad by Cardiff standards. Overpriced-yes, a bottle of house is about £12, but it’s a nice enough place in a noisy way and if you grab the table at the back you can watch the plebs of Wales falling about themselves on St. Mary’s St – an entertaining spectacle.

A small but perfectly formed bar above the shop on St Mary's Street. The stairs up are a bit steep but once in you find yourself in a relaxed and cosy bar with the usual sofas and tables. The bar staff are friendly and well able to throw cocktails together. The ultimate space to be here is at the front window which looks out onto the main drag so you can people watch and look down from your ivory tower at those staggering along. A wonderfull oasis from the hurly burly of office parties and stag nights which can start or end your night perfectly.
