Local modern arts centre
The Gate is an awful lot of things all in one building - somewhere you can go for a coffee and a bite to eat; somewhere you can take the kids to an acting dance class; sopmewhere you can go to learn ballet, salsa or pilates; somewhere you can see concerts in a wonderful small setting; somewhere you can just pop into to see the latest exhibition that is along the walls.It is all in what used to be a church, and has been carefully redesigned inside to keep many of the features - the gallery that used to give extra seating for services is still there - but a floor means that a new floor has been created which gives space for concerts, for instance. It is worth going along just to see what they have - you will be surprised!
