my lens has jammed and after some research on the net i realised this was a common probem with my make or camera, and according to people on the net, it was simple to fix, however not being particularly confident with camears i decided to take it to a camera shop to be fixed, i called this shop and asked whethere they did repairs and they said yes, i took the camera down to the shop where they rudely delt with me and told me that i wuld need to send it away, and t would probably be cheaper to buy a new camera from them, basically they wanted to make more money out of me. shockingly rude and tactless sales methods, not good.
Spoke to a staff member on the phone explaining the exact problem with my Sony Z1 camcorder, being that a tape is jammed in the deck and the deck mechanism is faulty. He said he could release the tape and fix the faulty mechanism whilst quoting me a price. I agreed to come down and bring the camera to which as soon as i brought my camera out of my bag my problem was brushed away by a staff member telling me to send it to sony in a very rude manner. They didnt even want to touch it or just see the problem and in the process wasted my time making false claims.
I have bought some great bargains from this shop, in particular a couple of refurbished Olympus digicams which were as good as new. They tend to get very busy though, and as it is a small shop I would recommend visiting when it is quiet so they can give you their full attention.

I ordered a camera lens which was described as having a tatty box. When I asked about the condition of the lens itself I was told it was as new and warrantied. I placed an order and it arrived quickly. However, the lens was not as described, it was in a poor state and certainly not as new or anywhere near as new condition. I telephoned and cancelled the order and sent the item back. It took them three weeks to refund me and they point blank refused to refund any postage costs, in spite of the error being on their part. What's more, the staff member I spoke to was extremely rude and even demonstrated their customer service was appalling but putting the phone down on me.
