    Went to Topo Gigio's last night, and it was without doubt the worst meal out I've ever had. A VERY limited menu. My wife and I both had basic pasta meals, one bottle of lager each and garlic bread to share, and it came to 36 pounds! My pasta was nothing special, the pasta itself was very stodgy. The garlic bread was laughable, I literally ate mine in 4 bites, and I honestly couldn't taste any garlic on it! Service charge was added to the bill without me asking, the restaurant was cold and draughty, the decor is very tatty. The walls are covered with photos of "celebrities" who have visited, which gives an overall impression of "if you're not famous, we don't care about you." Not only would I not recommend this place to anyone, if asked I would recommend any Italian in Cardiff other than Topo Gigio. An absolutely terrible, terrible restaurant and meal. Oh, and our meals took 40 minutes to come. There are far far better Italian restaurants in Cardiff, if fact if you were to go to Tesco and buy a value Italian ready-meal off the shelf, it would be better than what we had at Topo Gigio's.
